Scalable sender access control for bi-directional multicast routing
نویسندگان
چکیده
Bi-directional shared tree is an efficient routing scheme for interactive multicast applications with multiple sources. Given the open-group IP multicast service model, it is important to support sender access control in order to prevent group members from receiving irrelevant data, and also to protect the multicast tree from Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Compared with source specific and uni-directional shared trees, where information sources can be authorized or authenticated at the single root or Rendezvous Point (RP), in bidirectional trees this problem is more pronounced since hosts can send data to the shared tree from any point in the network. In this paper we propose a scalable sender access control policy mechanism for bi-directional shared trees so that irrelevant data is policed and discarded once it arrives at an on-tree router. We consider both intraand inter-domain routing, so that the mechanism can cope with large-scale multicast applications or many concurrent multicast sessions across multiple administrative domains.

Due to the growth and development of computer networks, the importance of the routing topic has been increased. The importance of the use of multicast networks is not negligible nowadays. Many of multimedia programs need to use a communication link to send a packet from a sender to several receivers. To support such programs, there is a need to make an optimal multicast tree to indicate the opt...

Wireless mesh network (WMN) is used to develop techniques for guaranteeing end-to-end delay performance over multihop wireless communication networks. The aim of WMN is to provide seamless communication in large heterogeneous networks and between heterogeneous devices. According to the architecture of WMN, mesh cloud will allow scaling the network easily. Hence we are addressing WMNs as scalabl...

Group communications are important in Mobile ad hoc Networks (MANET).A mobile ad hoc network (MANET), is a dynamic selfconfigurable wireless network, which has no fixed infrastructure or central administration. Multicast is an efficient method for implementing group communications. By the development of new network technologies, multicasting has become one of the important networking services. ...
